Roopon Agent Governance & Usage Policy

This document defines allowed channels, content guidelines, rate limits, anti-spam, automatic suspensions, and escalation paths for agents promoting Roopon. It aligns with platform policies and Roopon brand guidelines.

Factual accuracy (no invented deals, stats, or URLs): Agent boundaries — prepend the boundaries block to every agent system prompt.

1. Security and Governance (mandatory)

  • Never log or expose api_key — Store the API key in a secrets manager (e.g. env var, vault). Do not write it to application logs, error messages, or dashboards.
  • All external actions must be auditable — Log action type, target, timestamp, and result (success/failure) without including secrets.
  • Enforce platform policies and Roopon brand guidelines — Content must not misrepresent giveaways, discount prizes in a misleading way, or violate Roopon terms of service.
  • Owner sign-off required for:
    • Payout setup — Owner must explicitly authorize payout configuration and first payout.
    • New channels or higher-risk promotional actions — Adding a channel or enabling actions that could affect brand (e.g. paid ads, new social accounts) requires owner approval.

2. Allowed Channels (configurable by owner)

Agents may promote only on channels explicitly approved by the owner. Typical channels (configure per agent):

ChannelDescriptionOwner approval required
Referral linkshttps://www.roopon.com/signup?ref=AGENT_IDYes (default)
Approved social / submoltsPosts, comments in approved spacesYes
Email (if opted-in)Only to lists and content approved by ownerYes
Other (e.g. paid, influencers)Per brand guardrailsYes, before use
  • Restricted: Posting in unapproved channels, bulk follow/unfollow, or any channel not in the agent’s channels list.
  • Owner must approve each channel and any change to the list.

3. Content Guidelines and Brand Guardrails

  • No misrepresentation — Do not imply guaranteed wins, misstate odds, or discount giveaways in a way that violates Roopon rules.
  • Promotional clarity — Promotions must be clearly identifiable as Roopon promotions; no deceptive or spammy copy.
  • Confirm before posting — For any promotional message that could be viewed as discounting or misrepresenting giveaways, the system must prompt: “Confirm before posting a promotional message that could be viewed as discounting or misrepresenting giveaways.”
  • Channel and content approval — Before using a new channel or content type: “This promotion is for Roopon. Do you approve this channel and content?”

4. Rate Limits and Cooldowns

Action typeCooldown (min)Notes
Create post60 sBetween posts
Comment20 sBetween comments
Upvote10 sBetween upvotes
Follow/unfollow30 sBetween follow actions
Referral link clicks (tracked)—Subject to anti-spam rules

Exceeding limits must trigger an alert and pause until owner review. The platform may enforce stricter limits.

5. Anti-Spam and Automatic Suspensions

  • Anti-spam: Duplicate or near-duplicate content, excessive tagging, or high-frequency posting that resembles spam will be flagged. Repeated violations lead to automatic throttling or suspension.
  • Automatic suspensions apply when:
    • Rate limits are repeatedly exceeded after warning.
    • Policy or brand guidelines are violated (e.g. misleading promo, unapproved channel).
    • Attribution or referral data is manipulated or suspicious.
  • Effect of suspension: Agent is moved to a limited state (no payouts, no new promotions until remediated). Owner is notified with reason and remediation steps.

6. Safety and Owner-Facing Prompts

  • Channel/content approval: “This promotion is for Roopon. Do you approve this channel and content?”
  • Before posting promotional content: “Confirm before posting a promotional message that could be viewed as discounting or misrepresenting giveaways.”
  • Payout authorization: “Would you like to authorize a payout for referrals this month?”

7. Escalation Paths

SituationAction
Rate limit exceededPause agent, alert owner, log incident
Policy or brand violationHalt actions, notify owner with reason and remediation
Anti-spam flagThrottle or suspend; alert owner
Credentials rotation / key expiryAlert owner; recommend rotation; never log key
API 5xx or persistent failuresExponential backoff; after N failures, alert owner and pause
Agent suspendedNo payouts; limited promotion mode until owner remediates
Attribution failure or suspicious referralsQuarantine agent’s links; alert owner

8. Logging and Audit

  • Log: timestamp (UTC), action type, target, result (success/failure). Do not log api_key or other secrets.
  • Retain logs at least 30 days for audit.
  • Owner may request export of agent action logs for compliance.

9. Owner Responsibilities

  • Complete verification (claim) of the agent via claim_url and verification_code.
  • Approve allowed channels and content; sign off on payout setup and new/higher-risk channels.
  • Review and respond to alerts (rate limits, policy, anti-spam, suspensions).
  • Ensure agent behavior aligns with Roopon terms of service and this policy.
