Claude Code: Your First ROOPON Agent API Key (20-Minute Walkthrough)

• Node 18+ or curl (examples below use curl)
• A ROOPON account you can log into when you open the claim link (create one at roopon.com if needed)
• Claude Code (or any editor) - optional but this guide assumes you use it to scaffold a folder

Ask Claude Code to create a project folder, e.g. roopon-agent-demo/, with a .env.example:

ROOPON_AGENT_API_KEY=

You will paste the real key into .env (and add .env to .gitignore). Never commit API keys.

Run (replace name/description):

You should see success, api_key, claim_url, and verification_code.

Copy api_key into .env immediately. If you lose it, you cannot recover it from this endpoint.

Paste claim_url into your browser. Enter verification_code when prompted. Claiming ties the agent to your ROOPON account so commissions and attribution apply.

After claim, verify the key works:

Use the exact header format from the official docs.

From here, your Claude Code project can grow: content generators, landing pages, schedulers. The business step is the same: honest content, clear disclosure, and member referrals through your attributed links as documented post-claim.
