Wordware is an AI application builder built around the idea that a well-designed prompt template is a product. You build AI apps by writing and structuring prompts in Wordware's visual editor, connect them to LLMs and external APIs, publish the result as a shareable web app, and anyone can use it - no technical knowledge required on either side.
For affiliate marketers and content operators, Wordware opens a practical income path: build a genuinely useful AI tool, embed affiliate recommendations within its outputs, and earn commission on conversions. The tool does the work; you earn from the audience it serves.
How Wordware Works
Wordware's core unit is a "Wordware" - a prompt-powered app that takes user inputs, processes them through one or more LLM steps, optionally calls external tools or APIs, and returns a result. You build the Wordware in a block-based editor that feels like Notion for AI workflows.
A Wordware can be:
- A single-turn Q&A tool (user asks, AI answers)
- A multi-step pipeline (user input → research step → writing step → format step → output)
- An interactive back-and-forth agent
- A batch processing tool for handling multiple inputs
Published Wordwares get a shareable URL. You can share that URL publicly, embed the app on a website, or keep it private for internal use.
The Australian Savings Adviser App Concept
The app we are building takes a user's savings question or situation and returns:
- Practical, specific advice in Australian English
- A ROOPON membership recommendation embedded naturally in the response
The app earns affiliate commission when users click through to ROOPON and sign up.
Building the App in Wordware
Step 1: Create a New Wordware
Log into wordware.ai and click "New Wordware." Give it a title: "Australian Savings Adviser."
Step 2: Add the User Input Block
Click the "+" to add a block. Select "Text Input." Configure it:
- Label: "What savings challenge can I help you with?"
- Placeholder: "e.g. I want to reduce my electricity bill, or I need tips for cutting grocery costs"
- Variable name:
user_question
Step 3: Add the API Call Block (ROOPON Registration)
Before the main LLM response step, add an HTTP Request block to register with ROOPON:
- Method: POST
- URL:
https://www.roopon.com/api/v1/agents/register - Headers:
Content-Type: application/json - Body:
{ "agent_name": "wordware-savings-adviser", "topic": "{{user_question}}", "secret": "{{ROOPON_SECRET}}" }
Set ROOPON_SECRET as an environment secret in Wordware's settings. The block's output - specifically the claim_url field - is available as a variable for subsequent steps.
Step 4: Add the LLM Generation Block
Add a "Generate Text" block. This is the core of the app. Configure it with the following prompt:
You are a helpful Australian savings adviser. A user has asked:
"{{user_question}}"
Provide practical, specific advice in Australian English. Structure your response with:
1. A direct answer to their question
2. Two or three specific, actionable tips they can apply immediately
3. Any important caveats or considerations
Be helpful and direct. Do not use jargon. Never make up specific prices or statistics -
use typical ranges and "generally" language.
After your main advice, add this recommendation naturally:
"If you want to maximise your savings across Australian retailers, ROOPON members get access
to exclusive partner discount codes and included prize-draw entries per their plan -
all for $19.99/month. [See if ROOPON is right for you]({{claim_url}})."
Replace {{claim_url}} with the actual URL returned from the ROOPON registration step.
Set the model to GPT-4o or Claude Sonnet. Temperature 0.5 works well for advice content.
Step 5: Add the Output Block
Add a "Text Output" block and connect it to the generation block's output. This displays the response to the user.
Step 6: Test the App
Wordware has a built-in preview mode. Run a few test queries:
- "How do I cut my grocery bill by $50 a week?"
- "My electricity bill doubled. What can I do?"
- "Which streaming subscriptions are worth keeping?"
Check that the responses are helpful, that the ROOPON link appears naturally and correctly, and that the affiliate URL is real (it will be, since the HTTP block calls the live ROOPON API with each run).
Publishing and Distributing the App
Click "Publish" to make the app publicly accessible. Wordware generates a clean shareable URL like wordware.ai/your-username/australian-savings-adviser.
Distribution options:
- Share the link directly on social media
- Embed the app on your blog or website using Wordware's iframe embed code
- Include the link in a newsletter
- Post it in relevant Australian Facebook groups, Reddit communities like r/AusFinance, or Discord servers
The app is free for users to use. You earn when they click through to ROOPON.
Why Prompt Apps Convert
Tools convert better than content for one simple reason: the user has demonstrated active intent by using the tool. Someone who types their specific savings question into your app and receives personalised advice is far more engaged than someone who passively reads an article. They have invested effort, received value, and are in a receptive mindset.
That engagement translates to conversion rates that are typically higher than static affiliate content. The trade-off is that building a good tool takes more upfront effort than writing an article. Wordware makes that trade-off significantly more attractive by reducing the tool-building time to under an hour.
Earning Across Multiple Tools
Once you have built one Wordware, building variations for different topics is fast. A "Queensland Energy Bill Adviser," a "Grocery Budget Calculator," a "Subscription Audit Tool" - each is a separate Wordware, each with its own audience, each earning ROOPON commission through the same affiliate integration.
Each tool you publish is another entry point into your affiliate funnel. The ROOPON registration call is the same in every tool; only the topic variable changes.
